**Proverbs 1:21 – “Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square.”**

Dear beloved congregation,

As we gather together today, let us reflect on the wisdom found in the book of Proverbs. In Proverbs 1:21, we are reminded that wisdom calls out to us, raising her voice in the public square. This powerful imagery reminds us that wisdom is not hidden or elusive, but rather it is readily available to all who seek it.

In our fast-paced and often chaotic world, it can be easy to overlook the importance of seeking wisdom in our daily lives. We may be tempted to rely on our own understanding or the advice of others, but true wisdom comes from God alone. As it says in Proverbs 2:6, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

When we heed the call of wisdom, we are guided on a path of righteousness and discernment. We are able to make decisions that honor God and align with His will for our lives. As it says in Proverbs 3:21-23, “My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.”

In a world filled with noise and distractions, it is essential that we take the time to listen to the voice of wisdom. We must quiet our minds and hearts, allowing God’s wisdom to speak to us and guide us in all that we do. As it says in Proverbs 4:7, “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.”

Let us not be like the foolish who ignore the call of wisdom and choose to walk in darkness. Instead, let us be like the wise who seek after wisdom with all their hearts and are blessed by God’s favor. As it says in Proverbs 8:11, “For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”

As we go forth from this place, may we remember the words of Proverbs 1:21 – “Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square.” Let us be attentive to the voice of wisdom, seeking her guidance and following her teachings. In doing so, we will walk in the light of God’s truth and experience the abundant life that He has promised to all who seek Him.

May God bless you and keep you, now and always.

Amen.
